Suzanne Nicole Nixon brings a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship to new and existing non-profit organizations dedicated to healthy community for everyone. Through program planning, dynamic partnerships, grant writing and fun(d)-raising strategies, she enlivens the capacity and vision for meaningful processes and outcomes, collaboration, and self-actualization. With 25 years of experience in the non-profit, particularly grassroots, sector, Suzie shares her awareness through a framework combining entrepreneurship, creative arts, and well-being (i.e., the union of body, mind and spirit, or thought, feeling and deed).
Her work with non-profit organizations includes Girls Incorporated, the Ojai Valley Youth Foundation, and The Thacher School, First Five of Ventura County, Shaster Foundation of Cape Town, Carpinteria and Ojai Unified School Districts, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, and the Imaginal Institute. She is a Fellow of the Imaginal Institute, a Capacitar International community health trainer, a member of the national Walk-the-Walk Network of California Tomorrow, and a Raise Your Vibe healing conduit. Community-building programs initiated and developed by Suzie include: Inventures (entrepreneurial training program for young women ages 16-21), Ojai Valley Wellness Village (one of ten in California through the California Wellness Foundation), K-12 Carpinteria Comprehensive Pregnancy Prevention Program, and various imaginative group-building and fun(d)-raising processes.
